Man
Gazing upon woman
Gazing upon man.

In the same manner That has inspired innumerable people throughout the ages.

The type of inspiration That has wrought masterpieces from a glance.

The kind of indescribable epiphanies That have been birthed in stone, And on canvass, In verse and even those set in harmonies.

That is how I David A. Archer, Want the uncomplicated and elegant food that I prepare, To nourish.

The celebration Of every moment, However simple it may be.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I seek a position in an atmosphere that is about the food and the quality of the experience, and not so much the recognition.
I have worked in high profile kitchens in the past, and find that I no longer am interested in the type of atmosphere that is focussed on attaining recognition for the sake of recognition. Recognition becoming more important than the reasons for recognition, is not in my interest.
I have worked with food professionally for some years and have more than adequate experience in many respects. I can handle everything there is about a kitchen, including inventories, labor costing..... menu's, ordering.... the paper shuffle stuff.
My skills are quite keen, as is my creative insight into food. I am no sommelier, but have a great appreciation of wines and can work with them rather efficiently.
I very nearly loathe those in the food industry that see their occupation as nothing more than a gas station attendant. Especially those that have no appreciation of the level of trust that is extended when a patron walks through your door. To not have a respect for that, is a violation of something that is hard expressed in words. People are eating what it is that you, as a cook are preparing.... they are trusting you with their health and well being as much as looking for a wonderfull experience. If that isn't part of what you have in mind, in a kitchen.... why is it that you are even there? There are plenty of fast food establishments that can give you a job.... and to seek some recognition while bearing such an attitude is in violation of what said recognition is supposed to be about, in my opinion.
So you want to look cool? Look cool somewhere else, rock star.... I'm here to cook food. Good food. Simple, quality, excellent.
It Can't Miss.... attention to the food and love of the art.
It cannot miss! And there is no worry about spinning some drivel as to how cool you are. The food says it loud and clear... as will pleased patrons having experienced something that IS very good.... not just something that someone said is very good.
Rock Stars belong on a stage. Gas Station attendants belong at a gas station.
I cook food.
I cook good food.
I know where I belong.
